In 2015, accomplished sports car racer Bill Sweedler will join Townsend Bell behind the wheel of the No. 69 O'Gara Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3. Sweedler and Bell teamed to win the 2015 WeatherTech Championship GT Daytona title for Scuderia Corsa.
Sweedler, a native of New York, got his professional start in the ALMS in 2009, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in a four-race schedule. He won the prestigious Founder’s Cup award in 2010 before going on to claim victory in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring fueled by Fresh From Florida in 2012, his first race with open-wheel ace, Bell. The two drivers have been teammates since, competing primarily in the ALMS GT class.
2016: Part-time competitor in GTD with a best finish of 15th in class (Daytona, Laguna Seca).
2015: Won 2015 GTD championship, winning VIR International Raceway and finishing second in Patrón Endurance Cup with co-driver Townsend Bell.
2014: Won Rolex 24 and Patrón Endurance Cup in GTD class in 2014 WeatherTech Championship. Finished fourth in 2014 GTD points.
2012: Won class in 2012 Twelve Hours of Sebring in first race co-driving with Townsend Bell.
